After four years of performing as a subcontractor for large prime federal government contractors, this information technology company sought to up tier to becoming a prime. Having established strong relationships with both contracting and program personnel at DHS and Navy, they were poised for growth. They sought the advisory and consulting services or RMC to assist them in achieving this objective.
Description of RMC Engagement/Service Provided
GSA Schedule Proposal Support and Marketing and Capture Management
Due to their strong past performance and corporate maturity, RMC Consultants recommended that the company propose its information technology products and services on both the GSA Professional Services Schedule and Schedule 70. Moreover, based on the past performance with the Department of Homeland Security, RMC introduced to the firm to an existing EAGLE II prime contractor, so that they begin their quest of positioning themselves as a subcontractor for the next onboarding for EAGLE II. RMC also forecasted all relevant GWACs that the firm could compete for over the next five years, and began the capture management process for those agency specific and government wide acquisition contracts.
SBA Certification Support
The majority ownership of the company qualified them for several SBA certifications Woman Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned and 8(a). RMC assisted with the submission of each of these applications. Within four months they were certified for each of these designations by the Small Business Administration.
Successful Outcome
Over the next two years, the firms revenue base increased significantly as its GSA Schedules and SBA Certifications facilitated several large prime contract awards from its previously established client base. With the increased resources, the firm was granted a facility clearance, implemented a DCAA compliant accounting system and obtained their ISO 9000 certification. They are now one of the go to firms within DHS and The Navy and are positioned well to acquire a position on EAGLE II and Seaport.
